What is it?
Placenta encapsulation is the process of taking the nutrient-rich placenta, and turning it into a capsule-pill for women to ingest during the postpartum period. The method is based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Why?
Placenta capsules have been shown to balance hormones,
enhance milk supply, decrease postpartum bleeding, and boosts your energy level. For centuries, Traditional Chinese Medicine used (and still uses) the placenta to treat fatigue and insufficient lactation. Makes for a more gentle postpartum recovery, naturally.
How?
This is a two day process that is done in your home. I come to you! All I need is the use of your kitchen for a few hours. The first day I will prepare your placenta for the drying process. I will return the following day to ground the placenta pieces into a coarse powder, and put them into capsules. Ideally the placenta will be fresh, within 24-48 hours of delivery, but it can also be done if frozen.
How much?
You will get approximately 100-200 capsules to use for your
postpartum recovery, and you may also save them for future use like menopause! The fee for this service is $200. Doula clients receive a $50. discount. I also provide free placenta prints, and a keepsake pouch for the dried cord.
